RSA New Contemporaries 2024

Born in 1999, I grew up in Bristol where my interest in printmaking started by using objects around the house to print with, using small glass panels, bubble wrap and cotton scrim to create textures on paper. I also experimented with collagraph, lino, and mono-printing. In 2018 I completed my foundation at The Bristol School of Art where I broadened my ideas through the use of the inkjet printer, scanning materials and drawings and layering lino-prints to create abstract maps.

In 2018 I moved to Glasgow to study Painting and Printmaking at The Glasgow School of Art, where I found screen-printing. I loved the feeling of unveiling the paper and seeing something new, loving the quick pace of screen-printing, I explored this meduim for the duration of my time at art school. Then I started drawing geometric patterns, finding screen-printing a therapeutic process as well as an exciting way to experiment with my drawings. The Op Art movement has been a huge inspiration for me which has seeped into my work, exploring shape and space. My influences include artists such as Bridget Riley, Eduardo Paolozzi and Rachel Duckhouse.
